Course Information

Overview

This course is designed for students of Primary and High school ages. Students will learn to communicate both by speaking and writing in Arabic. students will be studying MSA Arabic, which is the Modern Standard Medium of communication in the Arabic world. Unlike other dialects, MSA Arabic is the gateway to understanding other dialects of many Arabic-speaking countries.

Our Syllabi corresponds with the Australian National Arabic Curriculum.

Objectives

This course aims to equip students with the following Skills

Communicate writing and speaking with other Arabic speakers
Develop an Understanding and Appreciation of the Classical Arabic tradition and Culture.

Learning Method

Teaching will take place in class room setting with your teacher.

Learning Activities

Learning activities will include:

Reading tasks
Writing tasks
Video material
Power-slides
Dialogue– Roleplay

Students will also complete end of Unit assessments.

Level 1 - Beginner

Learning Outcomes:

Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to:

Read simple words made of 3 letters, with their short and long vowels.
Write short sentences through dictation activities.
Converse at a basic level

Level 2 - Pre - Intermediate

Learning Outcomes:

Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to:

Understand and respond to Arabic comprehension texts and media.
Write longer sentences through dictation activities.
Acquire a bank of Arabic vocabulary to use.
Communicate by using correct grammatical and lexical sentence structures.

level 3 - Advanced

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to:

Understand the Arabic grammatical structures of Irāb.
Understand and develop a deeper Arabic grammatical understanding of Sarf- Morphology.
Read and respond to literary texts in MSA Arabic.
